1. V2500 Consumables Materials Index

   1. Introduction

      1. This process and consumables index has been created to give a complete list of the approved consumables used in the overhaul and repair of the V2500 engines.

      2. The materials are approved for use only when instructed by IAE repair, overhaul or maintenance documentation.

      3. The products listed have been tested for compatibility and function. Some suppliers may offer alternatives to the products listed in this manual. These alternatives must not be used without authority from IAE.

         NOTE

         If any of the products in this manual are no longer available from the listed suppliers or if supplier information is incorrect please contact your local IAE representative to send an EagleNet case to the SPM Group.

   2. Health and Safety Information

      1. It is the responsibility of the operator to obtain and observe the manufacturer's material safety data sheets for consumable materials information such as: hazardous ingredients, physical/chemical characteristics, fire, explosion, reactivity, health hazard data, precautions for safe handling, use and control measures and also to take local regulations into consideration.

      1. This index is broken down into 13 supply group sections.

      2. Each section consists of.

         1. An alphabetic index of the material type to material reference and CoMat number.

         2. An index of CoMat numbers to material type, manufacturers reference and suppliers.

      3. CoMat numbering.

         1. Each consumable material is given a unique CoMat number. Alternative materials for each CoMat number are included with a letter suffix attached to the basic CoMat item number. These alternatives may be used whenever the basic CoMat item number is called up with no asterisk.

         2. If only one specific alternative is permitted then the CoMat item number will be called up with the applicable letter suffix for the specific alternative. If the basic CoMat item number product is a mandatory requirement for a task and it is not permitted to use the letter suffix alternative materials for that task, the basic CoMat item number shall be highlighted as such with an asterisk (e.g., CoMat 02-035*) in the task.

      4. Compatibility.

         1. It is not acceptable to mix alternative products as they may not be compatible.

         2. When consumables are combined to produce complete systems e.g. paints with primer and topcoat components, then it is recommended to use components from the same manufacturer.

      5. Party Company consumables.

         1. These are included in the specification column for reference purposes.

   5. V2500 Vendor List

      1. This contains a list of all the suppliers and their manufacturer codes and address.

      2. It is permitted to purchase AMS (Aerospace Material Specification) specification and MIL (United States Military Standard) specification materials from local sources.

      3. If the specified supplier codes for a CoMat item number includes "LOCAL", then it is permitted to purchase the material from local sources.

      4. Distributors.

         1. If a supplier has authorized distributors to supply their products, then it is permitted to purchase the suppliers products from the authorized distributors.

         2. The web page of the supplier should give details of their local approved distributors.

      5. Consumable Supply agents.

         1. Consumable Supply agents may be used to procure approved consumables.

         2. Supplier/vendor codes for consumable supply agents that can supply consumable material procurement services are listed in the supplier column for CoMat Item No. xx-000 in each supply group (e.g. CoMat Item No. 03-000 in supply group 03 welding, brazing and metal spraying).

      6. Supplier Codes.

         1. Where possible, national or international supplier code designations have been used for the approved suppliers/vendors. These national or international supplier codes include.

            3	NATO Supply Code for Manufacturers NSCM
            4	National Codes for Manufacturers (ATA designated NC)

      7. If no national or international supplier code is available for a supplier/vendor, then an IAExx or IExxx number has been assigned to that supplier/vendor.

   6. Old PCI Indices

      1. The PCI consumable index had various indices included. The following table cross refers these indices to the current V2500 Consumable Materials Index (CMI) format manual.
