  1. TASK 70-01-00-000-501 Manual Instructions

    1. General

      1. The Standard Practices instructions and procedures contained in this manual are referred to regularly in other V2500 Publications. The coverage of this type of information within a single manual eliminates the need for duplicating these Standard Practices in the other V2500 Publications at each point of application.

      2. The instructions are written to permit, when possible, the use of regular workshop procedures when tasks are done. Unless approved by the International Aero Engine AG, do not use an alternative procedure when a specified procedure is given.

      3. Procedures contained herein shall be used as specified in the IAE manuals. In the event of a conflict, the instructions in the specific IAE manual shall take precedence.

      4. In many cases supplementary information, such as plating thickness, shotpeening intensities, various dimensions and other specific information, will be needed when using procedures in this manual. In such cases, use the information specified in the engine manual in conjunction with instructions in this manual.

      5. Where changes to the specified instructions are approved; the International Aero Engine AG will, if necessary, make a change to the manual and add the alternative to the manual.

      6. Unusual problems concerning engine overhaul should be presented to the IAE Product Support Department either through its field representatives or by direct contact. All possible assistance will be provided toward the solution of these problems.

      7. Requests for pertinent information not covered by this publication, and suggestions for modification or amplification of these instructions so as to increase their usefulness, will be welcome by the IAE Product Support Department.

      8. All specifications referred to within the manual shall be considered to be at the latest revision standard.

      9. Certain processes contain line drawings, if required the photographs can be obtained from IAE by quoting the tool number.
