Procedure
NOTE
The purity of the chromium trioxide must be at least 99.5 percent.The solution is made-up of 6.4 oz/gal (40 g/l) of CoMat 01-023 CHROMIUM TRIOXIDE CrO3(CHROM.ACID) in CoMat 01-201 DISTILLED, DEIONIZED, DEMINERALIZED, OR REVERSE OSMOSIS (RO) WATER.
Composition.
The solution is contained in a mild-steel tank; with heating and cooling coils or jackets, rectifier, agitation and extraction facilities. A mild or stainless-steel cathode is used, in the form of a plate or the tank itself. The anode/cathode area ratio is not critical, but a ratio of 5:1 to 10:1 is suitable. Less chromic acid is consumed at the higher ratio.

The solution is aqueous and is made-up of 6.4 oz/gal (40 g/l) of CoMat 01-047 POTASSIUM DICHROMATE K2Cr2O7 in CoMat 01-201 DISTILLED, DEIONIZED, DEMINERALIZED, OR REVERSE OSMOSIS (RO) WATER.
