IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OPERATOR TO OBTAIN AND OBSERVE THE MANUFACTURERS MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS FOR CONSUMABLE MATERIALS INFORMATION SUCH AS, HAZARDOUS INGREDIENTS, PHYSICAL/CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS, FIRE, EXPLOSION, REACTIVITY, HEALTH HAZARD DATA, PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING, USE AND CONTROL MEASURES AND ALSO TO TAKE LOCAL REGULATIONS INTO CONSIDERATION.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 70-37-13-370-001 Stress-Relief Cycle 6A

    2. CAUTION

      THE WELD JOINT IS BRITTLE AS WELDED. THE PART MUST BE HANDLED CAREFULLY AND KEPT CLEAN AND DRY UNTIL STRESS-RELIEVED/TEMPERED TO PREVENT CRACKING. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT SUBSEQUENT STRESS-RELIEF/TEMPERING BE DONE WITHIN 24 HOURS WITH LESS THAN 12 HOURS PREFERRED.

      Put the part in a cold oven. Air is a permitted atmosphere.

    3. Increase the temperature of the part to 600 deg F (316 deg C) and hold for 30 minutes.

    4. Increase the temperature of the part to 800 deg F (427 deg C) and hold for 30 minutes.

    5. Increase the temperature of the part to 1035 to 1065 deg F (557 to 574 deg C) and hold for two hours.

    6. Decrease the temperature of the part to 500 deg F (260 deg C) not faster than 100 deg F (56 deg C) every 15 minutes. Subsequent temperature decrease rate is optional.
