Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 70-37-22-370-001 Stress-Relief Cycle 17

    1. Increase the temperature of the part to 1435 to 1465 deg F (779 to 796 deg C) and hold for four hours in a vacuum or in a CoMat 03-138 HYDROGEN GAS (PROTECTIVE ATMOSPHERE) or CoMat 03-010 ARGON GAS or CoMat 03-117 ARGON GAS or CoMat 03-118 ARGON GAS or mix of hydrogen and argon atmosphere. Temperature increase rate is optional.

    2. Decrease the temperature of the part at a rate equivalent to air cool or faster to 500 deg F (260 deg C).

    3. Increase the temperature of the part to 1300 to 1350 deg F (704 to 732 deg C) and hold for 14 hours. Air is a permitted atmosphere. The increase in temperature rate is optional.

    4. Subsequent decrease in temperature rate is optional.
