General
Machine Riveting refers to the connection of parts by a rivet put through aligned holes, and peen the end that causes the parts to be locked together.
The general conditions apply to riveting repairs follow.
The rivet hole must be deburred before the rivet is put into it.
All aluminium rivets, or steel rivets in aluminium material, must have a layer of the applicable corrosion resistant paint put on it before rivets are installed.
Rivets must be installed with the machined head tightly against the material surface, and adjacent surfaces of materials that are riveted must be in strong touch with each other before the head is shaped.
