  1. TASK 70-45-00-400-501 Installation Of Retaining Rings - General Data

    1. General

      1. Retaining rings must be installed with the use of approved ring pliers. Internal type rings must not be compressed more than the point where the ends of the rings touch. External type rings must be expanded sufficiently to permit installation, precautions are to be used not to bend the ring.

      2. After installation make sure that the retaining ring is fully engaged, without looseness or distortion in its groove.

    2. NOTE

      Distorted retaining rings must be replaced.
