This Repair must only be done when the instruction to do so is given in Inspection-001 TASK 36-11-47-200-101.

NOTE

A locally made threaded adaptor for the applicable coupling nut thread. It is necessary that the adaptor has an extension piece to secure the tool in a vise.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 36-11-47-350-057 Remove the Damaged Tube Coupling Nut

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Attach the nut to the adaptor, make sure the nut is held so that it does not move.

      1. Use a locally made adaptor.

      3. Cut through the coupling nut, make the cut so that the cut radially aligns with the thrust wire.

      1. Use standard workshop tools.

      4. Remove the thrust wire and the parts that remain of the coupling nut.

      1. Do not cause damage to the thrust wire seating.

    2. SUBTASK 36-11-47-220-060 Examine the Seating

      1. Make a visual inspection of the thrust wire seating.

      1. Damage is not permitted.

    3. SUBTASK 36-11-47-350-058 Install the New Nut

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Attach the nut on the adaptor.

      1. Refer to Table Table Repair parts Use a locally made adaptor.

      3. Install the new thrust wire.

      1. Refer to Table Table Repair parts Assemble the tube into the nut Move or push the thrust wire through the entry hole.

    4. SUBTASK 36-11-47-220-061 Examine the Nut

      1. Examine the nut.

      1. Make sure the nut turns freely.
