General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service-bulletin alpha-variants refer to the IPC.

The pressure indicating tubes must be cleaned and inspected before this pressure test, Refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 36-21-49-100-100 and Inspection-000 TASK 36-21-49-200-100.

The Test Equipment Specification

To do the test on the pressure indicating tubes use equipment equivalent to that shown in Figure and Figure.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 36-21-49-780-051 Do the Hydraulic Pressure Test on the Tubes (01-100, 01-500, 01-600, 02-110, 02-500 and 02-725)

    2. Connect the tube to the outlet of the hydraulic pressure testing rig and the bleed valve adapter. Make sure that the bleed valve is open.

    3. Make sure that the pressure control valve is set to zero.

    4. Start the hydraulic pressure testing rig.

    5. Slowly turn the pressure control valve until the fluid comes out of the bleed valve.

    6. Close the bleed valve.

    7. CAUTION

DO NOT GO PAST THE TEST PRESSURE SHOWN BELOW FOR THE RELATIVE TUBE. IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBE. IF THE PRESSURE IN THE TUBE GETS TO MORE THAN THAT SHOWN BELOW, REJECT THE TUBE.

Increase the pressure in the tubes (01-100, 01-500, 02-110 and 02-500) to 504 psi (3475 kPa).

    8. Let the pressure stay in the tube for 2 minutes.

    9. Make sure that the tube has no leaks. If the tube has leaks, reject the tube, Refer to TASK 36-21-49-200-100.

    10. Decrease the pressure in the tube to zero.

    11. Stop the hydraulic pressure testing rig.

    12. Open the bleed valve.

    13. Disconnect the tube from the outlet of the hydraulic pressure testing rig and the bleed valve adapter.

    14. WARNING

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND GOGGLES.

Remove unwanted fluid from the tube with clean, dry compressed air.

    1. SUBTASK 36-21-49-780-052 Prepare the Tubes (01-100, 01-500, 01-600, 02-110, 02-500 and 02-725) for the Pneumatic Pressure Test

    2. Install the applicable blanking plugs to one end of the tubes.

    1. SUBTASK 36-21-49-780-053 Do the Pneumatic Pressure Test on the Tubes (01-100, 01-500, 01-600, 02-110, 02-500 and 02-725)

    2. Connect the tube to the outlet of the pneumatic pressure testing rig.

    3. Put the pressure of 14.5 psi (100 kPa) in the tube.

    4. Put the tube in the water tank.

    5. Let the pressure stay in the tube for 1 minute.

    6. Make sure that the tube has no leaks. If the tube has leaks, reject the tube, Refer to TASK 36-21-49-200-100.

    7. Decrease the pressure in the tube to zero.

    8. Disconnect the tube from the outlet of the pneumatic pressure testing rig.

    9. Remove the pressure blanking cap from the tube.
