General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

For standard torque data and procedures, refer to the SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.

Lubricate all threads and abutment faces of nuts and bolts with CoMat 10-039 ENGINE OIL, unless other lubricants are referred to in the procedure.

The number for each radial location must be identified in a clockwise direction. These start at the engine top position when you look from the rear of the engine, unless stated differently in the procedure.

Transportation covers/blanks must be removed immediately before the installation of the components.

To identify the consumable materials refer to the PCI.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-00-21-450-051 Install the Forward Right-Hand Hold-Open Rod Support Bracket (01-020)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the three existing bolts and washers from the fan case at 144 degrees radial.

    3. Install the three bolts and washers (existing hardware) that attach the forward hold-open rod support bracket (01-020) to the fan case at 144 degrees radial.

    4. Torque the nuts to between 180 and 220 lbf.in (20 and 25 Nm).

    2. SUBTASK 71-00-21-450-052 Install the Forward Left-Hand Hold-Open Rod Support Bracket (01-010)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the three existing bolts and washers from the fan case at 216 degrees radial.

    3. Install the three bolts and washers (existing hardware) that attach the forward hold-open rod support bracket (01-010) to the fan case at 216 degrees radial.

    4. Torque the nuts to between 180 and 220 lbf.in (20 and 25 Nm).
