General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

For standard torque data and procedures, refer to the SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501 and SPM TASK 70-41-02-400-501.

Special torque data and assembly tolerances are included in the procedure.

Lubricate all threads and abutment faces of nuts and bolts with CoMat 10-039 ENGINE OIL, unless other lubricants are referred to in the procedure.

The number for each radial location must be identified in a clockwise direction. These start at the engine top position when you look from the rear of the engine, unless stated differently in the procedure.

Transportation covers/blanks must be removed immediately before the installation of the components.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-00-22-450-051 Install the Load Share Fittings

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Locate the six bolt holes in the engine at PPS 175.18 and 78 degrees, 38 minutes and 24 seconds radial (left side 281 degrees, 21 minutes and 36 seconds radial).

    3. Install the six bolts (01-020) and washers (01-030) that attach the load share fitting (01-010 or 01-010A), the shim (01-050) and the five shims (01-040) to the engine.

    4. Torque the bolts (01-020) to between 75 and 85 lbf.in (8.5 and 9.6 Nm).
