TASK 71-00-32-350-001 Remove The Forward Engine Mount, Removal-001

General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.

Apply the approved CoMat 10-058 PENETRATING OIL before the removal of threaded parts and parts with an interface fit. Let the parts soak before removal.

Remove and discard the lockwire before parts are disconnected or removed.

NOTE

To identify consumable materials refer to the PCI.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-00-32-050-051 Attach the Forward Mount Sling and Moving Plate

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Attach the IAE 1N20014 Forward engine mount sling 1 off to a hoist and hang the sling above the forward engine mount.

    3. Remove the four nuts and two washers from the sling mounting plate.

    4. Insert the four bolts of the sling mounting plate through the side holes of the forward engine mount and put the sling mounting plate on the forward engine mount so the two locating pins hold it straight.

    5. Attach the sling mounting plate to the forward engine mount with two washers on the two rear bolts and the four nuts. Tighten the nuts.

    6. Raise the hoist to straighten the sling.

    2. SUBTASK 71-00-32-050-052 Remove the Forward Engine Mount (71-21-12, 01-010)

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

    2. Remove the bolts Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-050), the nuts Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-020), the washers Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-030), the washers Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-040), the retainers Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-060) and the pins Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-070) which attach the forward engine mount link assemblies Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-270) and Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-300) to the brackets.

    3. Remove the six bolts Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-080) and washers Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-090) that attach the forward engine mount Front Mount Support Assembly And Mount Brackets (71-21-12, 01-010) to the mount tube.

    4. Raise the hoist and sling and move the forward engine mount away from the engine.

    3. SUBTASK 71-00-32-450-053 Remove the Forward Engine Mount Sling and Mounting Plates

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the four bolts, the nuts and the washers which attach the sling mounting plate to the forward engine mount.

    3. Remove the IAE 1N20014 Forward engine mount sling 1 off and mounting plate from the engine mount.

    4. Replace the bolts, the washers, and the nuts on the sling for storage.
