Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-51-41-750-052 Do the Test for Continuity of the EEC Fan Harness (Pre SBE 71-0288) or the EEC Fan and Ignition Supply Harness Assembly (SBE 71-0288)

      NOTE

      Various methods can be used for continuity testing but in all cases the maximum voltage allowed is 24 volts DC.

    1. Refer to Table.

      2. Connect the Lamp and battery teter - 4.5 volts DC to each end of the cable circuit

      1. Accept cable circuits where the test lamp comes on.

      2. Reject all circuits where the test lamp does not come on.

    2. SUBTASK 71-51-41-750-053 Do the Test for Insulation Resistance Value of the EEC Fan Harness (Pre SBE 71-0288) or the EEC Fan and Ignition Supply Harness Assembly (SBE 71- 0288)

    1. Refer to Table.

      2. Connect the Megger - 250 volts DC or equivalent between each connector body and all the contacts within the connector. This check must be carried out for all connectors

      1. Accept resistances more than 20 megohms.

      2. Reject resistances less than in Step.

      3. Lightly pull or bend the cable. Make sure the resistances do not become less than 20 megohms.

        NOTE

        4009VC-A(16,31) and 4008VC-A(35,19) connections are removed by SB 75-0081. Therefore test of these two connections can be skipped for reworked (Post SB 75-0081) fan harnesses.

      3. Connect the Megger - 250 volts DC or equivalent between each contact and all the other contacts within the connectors

      1. Accept resistances more than 20 megohms.

      2. Reject resistances less than in Step.

      3. Lightly pull or bend the cable. Make sure the resistances do not become less than 20 megohms.
