NONEProcedure
There is no time limit for the shelf life if the storage facilities have temperature/humidity controls. Where temperature/humidity control is provided the harness insulation must be tested at regular times, refer to TASK 71-51-42-700-301 (Testing-001). Do not keep the harness for a long time in damp, humid or extremes of temperature. Control the storage time so the particular harness is used as soon as possible.
Install the applicable caps to all connectors to keep dust and moisture out.
Make coils of the harness cables and attach them together with CoMat 12-021 PACKING MATERIAL (PVC cable ties).
Put the harness in a polythene bag made from CoMat 12-004 P.V.C. SHEET and CoMat 02-005 ADHESIVE TAPE (MASKING). Put a sheet of CoMat 12-013B PRINTED, WAXED, VCI COATED PAPER in the bag before you seal it.
Attach a label to the bag with the assembly part number and storage date.
Keep the harness in a store with a well ventilated dry atmosphere at a temperature between 40 °F to 100 °F (4.5 °C to 37.5 °C). The optimum temperature is 70 °F (21 °C).
