Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-52-45-350-051 Disassemble Backshells

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Remove safety lockwire from the backshells.

    4. Loosen the screws on the backshell clamp.

    5. Loosen the backshell clamp.

    6. CAUTION

      DO NOT CUT THE INDIVIDUAL SHIELD.

      Remove the ground ring.

      1. Loosen the backshell nut

      2. If necessary use Glenair TG69 pliers.

    1. SUBTASK 71-52-45-350-052 Remove Pin and Sockets from Connectors

      1. Remove contacts (pin and sockets) from connectors.

    1. SUBTASK 71-52-45-350-053 Remove Bent Contacts from Cables

    2. Cut off contacts from cable.

    1. SUBTASK 71-52-45-350-054 Install contacts to Cables

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove cable insulation.

      2. Using a cable stripping tool, remove cable insulation to expose 0.25 in. (6.4 mm) for contact size 16 and 0.19 in. (4.8 mm) for contact size 20.

      1. Install contact bucket

      2. Use a Crimping tool and locator. Install the conductor into the contact bucket until it bottoms or is visible in the inspection hole.

      1. Install contacts into connectors

      1. Install unused contacts into spare holes in connectors.

    2. Install sealing plugs to spare holes containing unused contacts.
