General

All the bolts, the nuts and the washers referred in this TASK are part of the special tools.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-32-560-051 Install the Rear Brackets and the Rear Trunnions on to the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Put the LP compressor/intermediate case module with the storage stand on a work area.

      3. Attach the two adapters (part of IAE 1J12000 Lift bracket 1 off) to the LP compressor/intermediate case module.

      1. Attach the adapter to the flanges FD and FE LP compressor/intermediate case module at the 3 o'clock and the 9 o'clock positions.

      2. Safety the adapter with the four bolts and nuts. Tighten the nuts.

      4. Attach the two beams (part of IAE 1J12008 Trunnion 1 off) to the rear brackets.

      1. Attach the beam to the rear brackets with the eight bolts and washers.

      2. Tighten the bolts.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-32-560-052 Install the Sling on to the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Install IAE 1F10051 Two cable sling 1 off on to the LP compressor/intermediate case module.

      1. Make sure that the eye plate (part of the two cable sling) is at the center of gravity. If necessary, turn the handle of the sling to put the eye plate in to the identified position.

      2. Attach the eye plate to a hoist.

      3. Lift the sling and attach to the rear trunnion on the LP compressor/intermediate case module. Safety the sling with the safety clips of the sling.

      4. Make the hoist rope tighter.

    3. SUBTASK 72-00-32-560-053 Install the Front Bracket and the Turnover Bracket on to the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the bolts which safety the LP compressor/intermediate case module to the storage stand.

    3. Slowly lift the LP compressor/intermediate case module with the two cable sling until it is clear of the storage stand.

    4. Install IAE 1J13001 Trunnion assembly 1 off on to the front flange of the LP compressor/intermediate case module. Safety with the 20 bolts and tighten the bolts.

    5. Attach IAE 1J13003 Turnover bracket 1 off to the front bracket at the top position with the four bolts and tighten the bolts.

    4. SUBTASK 72-00-32-560-054 Turn the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module Vertical to Horizontal

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Engage the turnover bracket to a hoist.

    3. Adjust the two hoists to turn the LP compressor/intermediate case module from vertical to horizontal.

    5. SUBTASK 72-00-32-560-055 Install the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module on to the Pedestals

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Put IAE 1F10028 Support Pedestal 4 off below the two trunnions of the front bracket and the two beams of rear trunnions.

    3. Lower the LP compressor/intermediate case module and put it on the four pedestals.

    6. SUBTASK 72-00-32-560-056 Remove the Slinging Tools from the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Remove the sling.

      1. Lower the hoist and loosen the hoist rope.

      2. Open the clips and remove the hooks of the sling from the rear trunnions.

      3. Disconnect the sling from the hoist.

      3. Remove the turnover bracket.

      1. Lower the hoists and loosen the hoist rope.

      2. Disengage the turnover bracket from the hoist.

      3. Release and remove the four bolts and remove the turnover bracket from the front bracket.
