General

This TASK gives the procedure to remove the stage 10 air solenoid valve from the engine.

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha-variants refer to the IPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the item number.

The engine must be isolated from starting air supply, fuel supply and electrical power source while you do this procedure.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-32-050-070 Disconnect the Air Tubes and the Electrical Connector from the Stage 10 Air Solenoid Valve

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

    2. Cut and discard the lockwire and disconnect the HP3 air outlet tube from the valve.

      3. Remove the HP3 air inlet tube.

      1. Cut and discard the lockwire and disconnect the HP3 air inlet tube from the valve.

      2. Cut and discard the lockwire and disconnect the HP3 air inlet tube from the HP3 air tube.

      3. Remove the HP3 air inlet tube.

    4. Disconnect the electrical connector 4028KS-A from the valve.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-32-050-071 Remove the Valve

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the three bolts and washers which attach the valve to the bracket.

    3. Remove the valve from the bracket.

    4. Install the applicable covers/caps/plugs to all the openings of the valve, the tubes and the electrical connector.
