Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-31-11-350-057 Remove the Defective Locating Pin from the Annulus Filler Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Examine and identify the defective locating pin.

      3. Press out the defective locating pin.

      1. Use hand tools.

      4. Examine for damage in the bore.

      1. Remove the burrs.

      3. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

      5. Dimensionally examine the pin hole.

      1. Make sure the interference is correct.

    2. SUBTASK 72-31-11-230-056 Examine the Annulus Filler Assembly for Cracks

      1. Fluorescent penetrant examine the pin hole.

      1. Make sure there are no cracks in the pin hole.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

      3. Use fluorescent penetrant inspection equipment.

    3. SUBTASK 72-31-11-350-058 Apply the Surface Protection to the Annulus Filler Assembly

      1. Apply chromate conversion coating to the pin hole, if necessary.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.

    4. SUBTASK 72-31-11-380-056 Install the New Locating Pin

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Clean the locating pin and the pin hole.

      1. Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.

      3. Freeze the locating pin.

      1. Freeze the locating pin to aid replacement into pin hole.

      4. Install and press the locating pin into the pin hole.

      1. Use hand tools.

    5. SUBTASK 72-31-11-350-059 Examine the Pin Seating

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Visually examine the pin seating.

      1. Pin shoulder must be located against the flange face.
