Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-03-350-068 Remove the Damage from the Fan Frame Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure, Figure and Figure.

      2. CAUTION

        THE WHEELS, STONES AND ABRASIVE PAPERS USED TO DRESS, MAKE SMOOTH OR POLISH A TITANIUM COMPONENT MUST BE OF THE SILICON CARBIDE TYPE. ALUMINIUM OXIDE TYPES MUST NOT BE USED.

        CAUTION

        IF MECHANICAL CUTTERS ARE USED, ONLY SMALL CUTS MUST BE MADE TO PREVENT TOO MUCH HEAT.

        Make smooth and/or hand polish to remove nicks, dents, scores and galls.

      1. Use abrasive stones and/or fine file and paper.

      3. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-03-220-112 Examine the Fan Frame Assembly

      1. Visually examine the repaired area.

      1. Visually examine the repaired area for nicks, dents, scores and galls.

      2. Use a 10X magnifying glass.

      3. Refer to TASK 72-32-03-200-000 (INSPECTION-000).

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-03-230-065 Examine the Fan Frame Assembly for Cracks

      1. Fluorescent penetrant examine the repaired area.

      1. Make sure that there are no cracks in the repaired area.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
