This TASK gives the procedure to clean the outer roller bearing. For the other internal gearbox driven gear assembly parts, refer to TASK 72-32-16-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-16-240-053 Demagnetize and do a Check for Residual Magnetism

      1. Demagnetize.

      1. Demagnetize the bearing at a rate not to exceed 12 feet per minute.

      2. Make sure the residual magnetism is less than 5 gauss.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-16-110-053-001 Remove the Dirt and Dust

      1. Use clean polythene or flexible grease proof sheet.

    2. Drain the oil.
