Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-51-350-064 Remove the Defective Guide and/or Locating Pins from the Stub Shaft Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Inspect and identify defective guide and/or locating pins.

        Press out defective guide and/or locating pins.

      1. Use hand tools.

      3. Examine for damage in bores.

      4. Dimensionally inspect the pin holes.

      1. Ensure correct interference.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-51-230-054 Examine the Stub Shaft Assembly for Cracks

      1. Fluorescent penetrant examine the pin holes.

      1. Make sure there are no cracks in the pin holes.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-51-380-053 Install the New Guide and/or Locating Pins

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Clean the new guide and/or locating pins and the pin holes.

      1. Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.

      3. WARNING

        PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, MASK AND GLOVES MUST BE WORN WHEN USING LIQUID NITROGEN.

        Freeze the guide and/or locating pins.

      1. Freeze the pin to aid replacement into the pin hole.

      4. Install and press the guide and/or locating pins into the pin hole.

      1. Use hand tools.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-51-220-095 Examine the Pin Seating

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Visually examine the pin seatings.

      1. The pin shoulder must be located against the flange face.
