General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

Discard all rubber seal rings, cotter pins and seal washers removed in this procedure.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-53-040-051 Disassemble the No. 1 Bearing Seal Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the No. 1 bearing seal assembly from the container.

    3. Put the seal with the flange of the seal ring holder assembly down, on the bench.

    4. Remove the cotter pins which hold the retaining collars to the pins.

    5. Remove the retaining collars from the pins.

    6. Remove the No. 1 bearing face seal from the seal ring holder assembly.

    7. Remove the seal ring from the seal ring holder assembly.

    8. Remove the springs from the seal ring holder assembly.

    9. Remove the two sleeve spacers from the pins in the seal ring holder assembly.
