This TASK gives the procedure to clean the No. 1 ball bearing. For the other No. 1 bearing parts, refer to TASK 72-32-54-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

Procedure

1. 1. Demagnetize the No. 1 ball bearing at a rate not to exceed 12 feet per minute.
  2. Make sure the residual magnetism is less than 5 gauss.
1. 1. Use CoMat 01-186 CARBON AND PAINT REMOVER.
2. 1. Use CoMat 01-177 PETROLEUM (SOLVENT).
1. NOTE
  This Step is an alternative to Step.
  Clean. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-22-300-503
1. 1. Use CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILS.
2. Drain the oil.
3. 1. Use clean CoMat 12-002 POLYETHYLENE SHEET or CoMat 01-224 FLEXIBLE GREASE PROOFPAPER.

2. Drain the oil.
