Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-350-072 Remove the Damaged Pins

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove the damaged pin.

      2. Press out the damaged locating pins.

      3. Use hand tools.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-220-134 Examine the Pin Holes of the Support Ring Assembly

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Visually examine the pin holes.

      2. Cracks, nicks, scratches and burrs are not permitted.

      3. Use 10X magnifying glass.

    3. Dimensionally examine the pin holes.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-380-058 Apply the Surface Protection to the Support Ring Assembly

      1. Apply chromate conversion coating to the repaired surfaces, if necessary.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-350-073 Install the New Pins to the Support Ring Assembly

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Clean the new pins and the pin holes.

      2. Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.

      1. Freeze the new pins.

      1. Install the new pin.

      2. Press the pins into the pin holes.

      3. Use hand tools.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-220-135 Examine the Pins of the Support Ring Assembly

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Visually and dimensionally examine the installed pins.

      2. Make sure the pin is installed in the support ring with no movement.
