Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Keep the material removal to the minimum necessary to remove damage.
Surface finish of the repair must be the same as the adjacent area.
Make smooth and/or hand polish to remove nicks, scratches and dents except at Location 3.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Surface finish of the repair must be the same as the adjacent area.
Hand polish to remove raised material only at Location 3.
SUBTASK 72-32-72-350-053 Remove the Damage from the Valve Ring Assembly
Refer to TASK 72-32-72-200-000 (INSPECTION-000).
Visually examine the repaired area for peeling, nicks and scratches using a 10X magnifying glass.
Visually examine the repaired area.
SUBTASK 72-32-72-220-067 Examine the Valve Ring Assembly
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Make sure there are no cracks in the repaired area.
Use CoMat 06-063 FLUORESCENT PENETRANT (POST-EMULSIFIED MEDIUM SENSITIVITY) or CoMat 06-064 FLUORESCENT PENETRANT (WATER WASHABLE MEDIUM SENSITIVITY).
Fluorescent penetrant examine the repaired area.
SUBTASK 72-32-72-230-055 Examine the Valve Ring Assembly for Cracks
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.
Apply a chromate conversion coating to the repaired area.
