Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-83-350-084 Remove the Damage from the LPC Stage 2.3 Vane Assembly

      1. Make smooth and/or hand polish to remove nicks, dents and/or corrosion.

      1. Use abrasive stone or papers and/or fine file.

      2. Surface finish of the repair must be the same as the adjacent area.

      3. Refer to Figure.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-83-220-176 Examine the LPC Stage 2.3 Vane Assembly

      1. Visually examine the repaired area.

      1. Visually examine the repaired area for nicks, dents and/or corrosion using 10X magnifying glass.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 72-32-83-200-000.

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-83-230-079 Examine the LPC Stage 2.3 Vane Assembly for Cracks

      1. Fluorescent penetrant examine the repaired area.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

      3. Make sure there is no cracks in the repaired area.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-83-380-061 Apply Syrface Protection to the LPC Stage 2.3 Vane Assembly

      1. Apply the chromate conversion coating for aluminum with a brush on the repaired area.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.

    2. Flush the area with clean, cold water.

    3. Dry the area with dry air blast.
