Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-85-320-053 Machine the Bushing of the Fan Case Assemnly

    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      1. Set up and machine the bushing to the dimensions given in the figure.

      2. Keep the machining to the minimum dimension.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-85-350-120 Remove the Bushing from the Fan Case Assembly

    2. CAUTION

      TAKE CARE THAT THE FLANGE OF THE FAN CASE DOES NOT BECOME DAMAGED.

      Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove the remaining flange of the bushing using a file.

      2. Use a file.

      1. Remove the bushing using a small hammer and punch.

      2. Use a small hammer and punch.

    3. Clean the hole with a soft clean cloth and blast with air.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-85-220-164 Examine the Bushing Holes of the Fan Case Assembly

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Visually examine the bushing hole.

      2. No scratches and scores allowed.

      1. Dimensionally inspect the bushing hole to the dimension given in the figure.

      2. Use inside micrometer.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-85-230-059 Examine the Bushing Holes of the Fan Case Assembly for Cracks

      1. Examine the bushing hole for cracks.

      2. Do the penetrant procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

      3. No cracks permitted.

      4. Use fluorescent penetrant inspection equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-85-350-121 Install the New Bushing

    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      1. Clean the new bushing and hole of the fan case.

      2. Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.

    3. Install the new bushing into the hole of the fan case.

      1. Set up and swage the hollow end of the bushing to the dimension given in the figure.

      2. The bushing must be seated correctly to the fan case flange.

      3. After swaging, rotation of the bushing is permissible, but no axial movement allowed.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-85-220-165 Examine the Installed Bushing of the Fan Case Assembly

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Visually and dimensionally examine the installed bushing.

      2. The bushing must be correctly seated to the fan case flange.

      3. Rotation of the bushing is permissible, but no axial movement allowed.
