Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-85-350-138 Remove the Damaged Self Locking Plate Nuts of the Name Plate Bracket

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      2. Grind off upset side of rivets.

      1. Use hand held pneumatic grinder and abrasive wheel.

      2. Care must be taken to prevent damage to the name plate bracket.

      3. Drive out rivet bodies and remove self locking plate nut.

      1. Use a small hammer and punch.

      4. Remove sharp edge around the rivet holes.

    5. Clean the hole with a soft clean cloth and blast with air.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-85-220-177 Examine the Rivet Hole of the Name Plate Bracket

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      2. Visually examine the rivet holes.

      1. No cracks and burrs are permitted.

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-85-380-001 Install New Self Locking Plate Nut to the Name Plate Bracket

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

    2. Install new self locking plate nut in position on the name plate bracket, aligning rivet holes.

    3. Install the rivet through the name plate bracket and self locking plate nut.

      4. Form rivets, using continuous squeezing action.

      1. Use pneumatic riveter.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-85-220-178 Examine the Self Locking Plate Nut of the Name Plate Bracket

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      2. Visually examine the formed rivet head.

      1. The rivet must be tight. Both the rivet heads should be correctly seated.

      2. The formed rivet head has no cracks and no signs of bursting at the perphery.
