Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-13-320-064 Remove the Damage and all of the Nickel Plate from the HPC Rear Hub No. 4 Bearing Seal Seat Shoulder

      1. Remove the nickel plate.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-33-06-300-503 or

      1. Machine or grind the HPC rear hub No. 4 bearing seal seat shoulder.

      2. Keep the machining to the maximum dimension. Refer to Figure.

      3. If a grind operation is used to get the before plating dimension, do the fluorescent penetrant inspection.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-13-230-103 Examine the Machined No. 4 Bearing Seal Seat Shoulder for Cracks

      1. Examine the machined No. 4 Bearing front seal mating diameter for cracks.

      2. Do the penetrant procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-23-04-230-501. No cracks permitted. Do this procedure before you plate the part.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-13-380-062 Nickel Plate the Machined Shoulder Area

      1. NOTE

        Nickel plate must not overlap chromium plated area.

        Nickel plate the machined shoulder area.

      2. Do the procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-33-06-300-503. Plate to a minimum plate dimension. Refer to Figure.
