This Repair must only be done when the instruction to do so is given in 72-41-34 Inspection/Check.

This Repair has been issued for the replacement of damaged or worn bushes in the HP compressor stage 6 actuating ring connector assembly.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK number are in the SPM.

NOTE

Equivalent materials or equipment can be used.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-066 Remove the Worn Bushes

    1. Refer to: Figure

      2. Push the bushes from the hole.

      1. Use a round bar.

      3. Clean the bush location hole in the connector.

      1. Use a soft clean cloth and air blast.

        Remove the sharp edges around the hole.

    4. Visually inspect the bush location holes.

      NOTE

      Pushing the bushing from the hole using a round bar, and on its own is sufficient to remove the bushings when needed.

    2. SUBTASK 72-41-34-230-086-001 Do a Crack Test

      1. Do a penetrant crack test.

      1. Cracks are not permitted.

    3. SUBTASK 72-41-34-230-086-002 Do a Crack Test

      1. Do a penetrant crack test.

      1. Cracks are not permitted.

    4. SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-067 Install the Bushes

    1. Refer to: Figure

      2. Install the new bushes into the holes.

      1. Push the bush in to the hole until the retaining feature is engaged.

        Ensure the bush is installed from the correct direction.

    3. Visually inspect the bushes.

    5. SUBTASK 72-41-34-380-052 Touch-up Damaged Surface Protection
