Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-230-063-001 Do a Crack Test

      1. Do a penetrant crack test.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-01-230-501. Cracks are not permitted.

    2. SUBTASK 72-41-34-230-063-002 Do a Crack Test

      1. Do a penetrant crack test.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-03-230-501. Cracks are not permitted.

    3. SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-071 Remove the Damage

    1. Refer to: Figure

      2. Remove the damage.

      1. Make sure the damage marks are completely removed and the area is made smooth in to the adjacent material.

        The depth to remove the damage must not be more than 0.005 in. (0.13 mm). The diameter of the repaired area is to be 50 times the depth.

      3. Polish the area of the repair.

      1. Polish the repaired area to remove the scratches and to give a surface finish the same as the adjacent material.

    4. SUBTASK 72-41-34-220-194 Examine the Repair

    1. Refer to: Figure

      2. Do a visual and dimensional inspection.

      1. Make sure the surface finish is the same as the adjacent material.

        The depth of the repair must not be more than 0.005 in. (0.13 mm).

    5. SUBTASK 72-41-34-230-064-001 Do a Crack Test

      1. Do a penetrant crack test.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-01-230-501. Cracks are not permitted.

    6. SUBTASK 72-41-34-230-064-002 Do a Crack Test

      1. Do a penetrant crack test.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-03-230-501. Cracks are not permitted.
