Use Removal tool.
Remove loose or damaged inserts from the diffuser case.
SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-055 Remove the Inserts from the Diffuser Case
The hole must be in 0.010 in. (0.254 mm) diameter of true position in relation to Surface A and the initial location of the damaged thread minor diameter. Refer to Figure.

CAUTION
DO NOT DRILL OR TAP INTO THE DIFFUSER CASE WALL WHEN YOU DO THE HOLE REPAIR.Machine the damaged threads to a minor diameter of 0.2577 - 0.2646 in. (6.546 - 6.721 mm).
Use Plug tap.
Tap the hole and remove the chips.
SUBTASK 72-42-11-320-051 Machine the Damaged Threads

CAUTION
THE WALL THICKNESS OF THE BOSSES CANNOT BE DECREASED BELOW 0.130 INCH (3.302 MM) FROM THE MINOR DIAMETER OF THE THREADS.Use Thread plug gage.
Examine the threads after you tap them.
SUBTASK 72-42-11-220-060 Examine the Threads
Put the PN 1191-4TN375 insert onto the tip of the Installation tool.
Use Tang removal tool.
Break the tang of the insert at the notch.
SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-056 Install the New Helical Coil Inserts
Refer to TASK 72-42-11-200-000 (INSPECTION-000).
Examine the new inserts.
