Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-073 Remove the Damaged Insert from the Fuel Nozzle Boss or the ACAC Bracket Mount Boss

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      2. Remove the damaged insert from the diffuser case.

      1. Be careful not to damage the diffuser case.

      2. For ACAC Bracket Mount Boss, remove the washer with the insert.

    2. SUBTASK 72-42-11-220-075 Examine the Diameter of the Insert and the Diameter of the Hole in the Boss

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

      2. Examine the insert for the class number.

      1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      2. Make a record of the class number.

      3. Measure the hole diameter in the boss.

      1. Remove all high material before you examine the hole diameter.

      2. Make a record of the hole diameter.

      4. Get the correct class number for the new insert from the figure.

      1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Compare the hole diameter to the dimensions given in the figure and find the correct fit and class number for the repair insert.

    3. SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-074 Install the Insert in the Fuel Nozzle Boss

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Install the new insert in the fuel nozzle boss.

      1. Make sure you have the correct fit and class number for the location you install the insert.

    3. Make a record of the fuel nozzle boss location, hole location and the class number you install at that location.

    4. SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-089 Install the Insert in the ACAC Bracket Mount Boss

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Install the washer and new insert in the ACAC bracket mount boss.

      1. Make sure you have the correct fit and class number for the location you install the insert.

    3. Make a record of the ACAC bracket mount boss location, hole location and the class number you install at that location.

    5. SUBTASK 72-42-11-220-076 Examine the Insert

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      2. Examine the new insert in the fuel nozzle boss or the ACAC bracket mount boss.

      1. A gap is permitted between the fuel nozzle boss and the front face of the insert, except contact is required at one or more locations in the 360 degrees of the insert.

      2. A gap is permitted between the ACAC bracket mount boss and the washer, except contact is required at one or more locations in the 360 degrees of the insert.
