Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-075 Remove the Loose or Damaged Shoulder Pin from the Diffuser Case

    2. Refer to: Figure

      1. Drill the damaged shoulder pin shank.

      2. Drill the center of the pin shank with a 0.15625 in. (3.969 mm) drill bit. Be careful not to make the hole larger than the outer diameter of the pin shank or damage the flange. The outer diameter of the pin shank is 0.1875 in. (4.762 mm).

      1. Remove the pin from the flange of the diffuser case.

      2. Use a standard drift. Be careful not to damage the flange.

    2. Refer to: Figure

    3. Install the new shoulder pin in the flange hole on the diffuser case.

      1. Flare the pin.

      2. Make sure the face of the pin is against the flange. Use a standard tool to flare the pin.

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-220-077 Examine the Repair

    2. Refer to: Figure

      1. Examine the installed pin.

      2. The face of the pin must be against the flange.

        The pin must be tight on the flange.

        No cracks permitted on the flare.
