General

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-00-540-051 Remove the Cover from the Shipping Equipment Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. CAUTION

      DEPRESS THE PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE AND RELIEVE THE INTERNAL CONTAINER PRESSURE TO PREVENT A SUDDEN RELEASE OF THE CONTAINER COVER.

      Cut the lead seal.

    3. Rotate the container flange fasteners 90 degrees to disconnect them.

    4. Connect a hoist and a standard two cable sling to the cover lift rings and remove the cover.

    2. SUBTASK 72-45-00-540-052 Remove the Upper Support from the HP Turbine Rotor and Stator Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the hex head cap screws and lockwasher from the upper support.

    3. Remove the upper support from the ID of the stage 2 turbine rotor assembly.

    3. SUBTASK 72-45-00-540-053 Remove the HP Turbine Rotor and Stator Assembly from the Shipping Equipment Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Install the IAE 1P16046 Removal/Installation fixture or IAE 1P16543 Removal/Installation fixture or 1 off to the rear flange of the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly as follows:

      1. Attach a standard two cable sling to the hoist rings on the fixture.

      2. Attach a hoist to the sling.

      3. Lift the fixture above the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly, which is in the shipping equipment assembly.

      4. Lower the fixture on to the rear flange of the HP turbine case assembly.

      5. Engage the offset hole in the fixture with the dowel pin in the HP turbine case assembly flange.

      6. Secure the fixture with the two piece ring against the HP turbine case assembly rear flange and the large offset hole on the dowel pin flare.

      7. Hold the fixture in position with the 25 nuts and bolts.

    3. Remove the capscrews, the split lockwashers and the flat washers which hold the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly in the shipping equipment assembly.

    4. Lift the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly from the shipping equipment assembly with the hoist.

    4. SUBTASK 72-45-00-540-054 Install the HP Turbine Rotor and Stator Assembly in the Build Stand

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Position the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly above the IAE 1P16028 Build stand 1 off, Figure.

    3. Lower the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly in to the build stand.

    4. Remove the hoist, the sling and the fixture.

    5. Raise the center of the stand to contact the front face of the rotor.

    5. SUBTASK 72-45-00-540-055 Install the Cover

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install the IAE 1P16060 Protective cover 1 off on the HP turbine case rear flange.

  6. SUBTASK 72-45-00-540-056 Put the Supports and Hardware in the Shipping Equipment Assembly and Store the Assembly
