Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-25-350-052 Remove the Metal Transfer from the Ceramic Rubstrip

      1. CAUTION

        DO THIS PROCEDURE UNTIL SIGNS OF METAL TRANSFER ARE GONE. DO NOT REMOVE TOO MUCH CERAMIC MATERIAL OR THE COLD GAP RUB/EROSION REQUIREMENT AT ASSEMBLY MAY NOT BE MET.

        Remove all metal transfer from the ceramic rubstrip.

      1. Refer to Figure.

        Use CoMat 05-145 WHEEL, CLOTH BUFF with CoMat 05-150 SILICON CARBIDE GRIT or CoMat 05-146 WHEEL, SILICON CARBIDE ABRASIVE COAT DELETED.

        Lightly grind affected areas. Be careful not to cause damage to other areas of ceramic coating or other surfaces.

    2. SUBTASK 72-45-25-350-053 Remove Loose Dust from surfaces that Show

      1. Remove loose dust from surfaces that show on the duct segment.

      1. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust. Be sure to vacuum all slots and cooling holes.

    3. SUBTASK 72-45-25-220-079 Inspect the Stage 2 HPT Duct Segment after Repair

      1. Examine the duct segment after repair.

      1. Refer to Figure.

        Damage to other areas of ceramic coating and other surfaces is not permitted.
