    1. SUBTASK 72-50-00-210-051 Examine the Shipping Equipment

    1. Examine the IAE 5F10167 Shipping equipment. Refer to Figure.

    2. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-063 Open the Shipping Equipment

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Loosen and remove the securing parts of the shipping equipment.

    3. Install hoist equipment to the upper half of the shipping equipment.

    4. Lift the upper half of the shipping equipment and remove it.

    3. SUBTASK 72-50-00-550-051 Do the Check for the Desiccant and Humidity Indicator

    1. CAUTION

      MAKE SURE THAT THE DESICCANT BAGS WILL NOT BE DAMAGED OR RUPTURED. IF PARTICLES OF DESICCANT ENTER THE LP TURBINE MODULE, REMOVE THE LP TURBINE MODULE FROM THE SHIPPING FRAME. DISASSEMBLE THE LP TURBINE MODULE AS FAR AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE ALL DESICCANT PARTICLES COMPLETELY (REFER TO AND TASK 72-50-10-030-000 AND TASK 72-50-10-030-000).

    4. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-064 Remove the Desiccant

    5. SUBTASK 72-50-00-550-052 Do the Check for the Engine Documentation

    1. Remove the CoMat 12-004 P.V.C. SHEET with the engine documentation from the shipping equipment.

    2. Do the check for the numbers of items with the items listed on the records.

    6. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-065-A00 V2500-A1 Install the Guide Pogo Stick to the LP Turbine Shaft

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Install the IAE 1F10074 Guide pogo stick 1 off through the inner diameter of the LP turbine shaft. Use an applicable webbing sling.

    3. Make sure that the centering diameter of the guide pogo stick is installed correctly to the LP turbine shaft. Turn clockwise the screw at the rear end of the guide pogo stick to safety the guide pogo stick to the LP turbine shaft.

    4. Put the IAE 1F10075 Support pedestal 1 off A below the guide pogo stick. Move the support pedestal A near the rear flange of the turbine case. Turn the handwheel A until the end of the pedestal-screw touches the guide pogo stick. Safety the pedestal-screw in that position with the handwheel B.

    7. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-065-B00 V2500-A5 Install the Guide Support to the LP Turbine Shaft

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Install the IAE 1P16377 Guide support 1 off through the inner diameter of the LP turbine shaft. Use an applicable webbing sling.

    3. Make sure that the centering diameter of the guide support is installed correctly to the LP turbine shaft. Turn clockwise the screw at the rear end of the guide support to safety the guide support to the LP turbine shaft.

    4. Put the IAE 1F10075 Support pedestal 1 off A below the guide support. Move the support pedestal A near the rear flange of the turbine exhaust case. Turn the handwheel A until the end of the pedestal-screw touches the guide support. Safety the pedestal-screw in that position with the handwheel B.

    8. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-066-A00 V2500-A1: Remove the Supporting Fixture

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Release the two hand knobs that attach the two clamps (part of the IAE 1M14086 Supporting fixture or of the IAE 1M14461 Supporting fixture) to the stage 7 turbine disk.

    3. Release the four screws that attach the supporting fixture to the LP turbine case. Remove the supporting fixture from the rear flange of the LP turbine case.

    9. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-066-B00 V2500-A5: Remove the Supporting Fixture

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Release the two hand knobs that attach the two clamps (part of the IAE 1M14143 Support fixture or of the IAE 1M14461 Supporting fixture) 1 off to the stage 7 turbine disk.

    3. Release the four screws that attach the supporting fixture to the LP turbine case. Remove the supporting fixture from the rear flange of the LP turbine case.

    10. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-067-A00 V2500-A1 Remove the Transportation Blanks

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Remove the transportation blanks from the LP turbine module.

    3. Install the IAE 1M14127 Support plate 2 off on the LP turbine case front flange and LP turbine shaft. Attach each segment of the support plate with the seven bolts and nuts to the LP turbine case. Tighten the bolts.

    11. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-067-B00 V2500-A5 Remove the Transportation Blanks

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Remove the transportation blanks from the LP turbine module.

    3. Install the IAE 1M14146 Support plate 2 off on the LP turbine case front flange and LP turbine shaft. Attach each segment of the support plate with the seven bolts and nuts to the LP turbine case. Tighten the bolts.

    12. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-068 Install the Support Fixture in to the Lifting Fixture

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Use hoist equipment.

    3. Engage the IAE 1M14000 Lifting fixture 1 off on to the IAE 1M14002 Support fixture 1 off. Turn back the three guide sleeves, part of the lifting fixture, until the support fixture touches the lifting fixture.

    4. Attach the tool assembly with the three nuts on the guide sleeves.

    5. Install the IAE 1M14003 Support arm 2 off to the lifting fixture. Attach each support arm with the eight washers and screws.

    6. Use hoist equipment.

    7. Install the IAE 1F10052 Two cables sling 1 off to the rear spools of the support arms.

    13. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-069-A00 V2500-A1 Install the Assembled Fixture and Remove the Guide Pogo Stick

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Install the assembled fixture to the IAE 1F10074 Guide pogo stick 1 off.

    3. Put the IAE 1F10075 Support pedestal B below the rear end of the guide pogo stick. Turn the handwheel A until the end of the pedestal-screw touches the guide pogo stick. Safety the pedestal-screw in that position with the handwheel B.

    5. Move the assembled fixture against the rear flange of the LP turbine case. Align the holes. Attach the lifting fixture with 19 screws. Tighten the screws.

    6. Attach the IAE 1F10052 Two cables sling 1 off to the front spools of the support arms.

    7. Loosen the three nuts that safety the guide sleeves (part of the lifting fixture). Turn the guide sleeves clockwise until the support fixture is correctly installed to the LP turbine shaft. Tighten the three nuts. Refer to Figure.

    8. CAUTION

      MAKE SURE THAT THE SUPPORT FIXTURE IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED ON THE LP TURBINE SHAFT AND LOCKED TO THE LIFTING FIXTURE. IF NOT CORRECTLY SECURED, THE LP TURBINE CASE AND ROTOR PARTS CAN BE DAMAGED DURING HANDLING OF THE LP TURBINE MODULE.

      Remove the support pedestal B. Remove the guide pogo stick through the support fixture.

    14. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-069-B00 V2500-A5 Install the Assembled Fixture and Remove the Guide Support

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Install the assembled fixture to the IAE 1P16377 Guide support 1 off.

    3. Put the IAE 1F10075 Support pedestal B below the rear end of the guide support. Turn the handwheel A until the end of the pedestal-screw touches the guide support. Safety the pedestal-screw in that position with the handwheel B.

    5. Move the assembled fixture against the rear flange of the LP turbine case. Align the holes. Attach the lifting fixture with 19 screws. Tighten the screws.

    6. Attach the IAE 1F10052 Two cables sling 1 off to the front spools of the support arms.

    7. Loosen the three nuts that safety the guide sleeves (part of IAE 1M14000 Lifting fixture). Turn the guide sleeves clockwise until the support fixture is correctly installed to the LP turbine shaft. Tighten the three nuts. Refer to Figure.

    8. CAUTION

      MAKE SURE THAT THE SUPPORT FIXTURE IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED ON THE LP TURBINE SHAFT AND LOCKED TO THE LIFTING FIXTURE. IF NOT CORRECTLY SECURED, THE LP TURBINE CASE AND ROTOR PARTS CAN BE DAMAGED DURING HANDLING OF THE LP TURBINE MODULE.

      Remove the support pedestal B. Remove the guide support through the support fixture.

    15. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-070-A00 V2500-A1 Safety the Assembled Fixture to the LP Turbine Module without Turbine Exhaust Case

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install the ringnut (part of the IAE 1M14002 Support fixture) on to the rear end of the LP turbine shaft.

    3. Install the IAE 1M14005 Torque wrench 1 off to the ringnut.

    4. Assemble the IAE 1F10019 Mechanical wrench 1 off with the IAE 1R19787 Sling 1 off to the torque wrench.

    5. Install the IAE 1M14006 Immobilizing fixture 1 off on to the rear end of the LP turbine shaft. Safety the immobilizing fixture to the torque multiplier with the immobilizer plate.

    6. Operate the mechanical wrench to torque the ringnut to 147.5 lbfft (200 Nm).

    7. Remove the immobilizing fixture, the mechanical wrench with the sling and the torque wrench from the lifting fixture.

    16. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-070-B00 V2500-A5 Safety the Assembled Fixture to the LP Turbine Module without Turbine Exhaust Case

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install the ringnut (part of IAE 1M14002 Support fixture) on to the rear end of the LP turbine shaft.

    3. Install the IAE 1M14005 Torque wrench 1 off to the ring nut.

    4. Assemble the IAE 1F10019 Mechanical wrench 1 off with the IAE 1R19787 Sling 1 off to the torque wrench.

    5. Install the IAE 1M14139 Immobilizing fixture 1 off on to the rear end of the LP turbine shaft. Safety the immobilizing fixture to the torque multiplier with the immobilizer plate.

    6. Operate the mechanical wrench to torque the ringnut 147.5 lbfft (200 Nm).

    7. Remove the immobilizing fixture, the mechanical wrench with the sling and the torque wrench from the lifting fixture.

    17. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-071 Remove the LP Turbine Module without Turbine Exhaust Case from the Shipping Equipment

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure

    2. Loosen the nut of the eye bolt.

    3. Loosen the ringnut A. Turn the ringnut A to the end position.

    4. Loosen the ringnut B from the rear end of the support.

    5. Disengage the eye bolt. Turn the block in open position.

    6. Loosen and remove the 28 head capscrews which attach the LP turbine case to the IAE 5F10149 Shipping frame.

    7. Move the LP turbine module without turbine exhaust case carefully rearwards to get it free from the shipping frame. Lift the LP turbine module without turbine exhaust case from the shipping equipment.

    8. Loosen the ringnut C and remove the shaft, part of the shipping frame, from the LP turbine shaft.

    9. Install the shaft to the front support of the shipping frame. Turn the opened block down. Safety it with the eyebolt and the nut.

    18. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-072 Install the LP Turbine Module without Turbine Exhaust Case to the Horizontal Stand

      NOTE

      Safety the IAE 1F10080 Horizontal stand 1 off with the three arms.

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure

    2. Open the block of the front support part of the horizontal stand. Remove the shaft from the front support.

    3. Install the shaft in to the front end of the LP turbine shaft. Safety the shaft to the LP turbine shaft with the ringnut C.

    4. Lower the LP turbine module without turbine exhaust case carefully to the front support of the horizontal stand.

    5. Move the LP turbine module without turbine exhaust case slowly down and align the shaft in the front support of the horizontal stand.

    6. Make sure that the shaft is correctly aligned to the front support. Align the bolt holes of the LP turbine case front flange with the bolt holes of the horizontal stand.

    7. Attach the LP turbine case front flange with the 12 head capscrews to the horizontal stand. Tighten the screws.

    8. Turn the ringnuts A and B to the support to safety the LP turbine module without turbine exhaust case to the front support of the horizontal stand. Tighten the ringnuts A and B.

    9. Turn the opened block down and safety the support. Engage the eye bolt. Tighten the nut of the eye bolt.

    19. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-073-A00 V2500-A1 Release the Assembled Fixture from the LP Turbine Module without Turbine Exhaust Case

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install the IAE 1M14005 Torque wrench 1 off to the ringnut, part of the IAE 1M14002 Support fixture.

    3. Assemble the IAE 1F10019 Mechanical wrench 1 off with IAE 1R19787 Sling 1 off to the torque wrench.

    4. Install the IAE 1M14006 Immobilizing fixture 1 off on to the rear end of the LP turbine shaft. Safety the immobilizing fixture to the mechanical wrench with the immobilizer plate.

    5. Operate the mechanical wrench to release the ringnut.

    6. Remove the immobilizer, the mechanical wrench with the sling and the torque wrench from the assembled fixture.

    7. Remove the ringnut from the rear end of the LP turbine shaft.

    20. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-073-B00 V2500-A5 Release the Assembled Fixture from the LP Turbine Module without Turbine Exhaust Case

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install the IAE 1M14005 Torque wrench 1 off to the ringnut, (part of the IAE 1M14002 Support fixture).

    3. Assemble the IAE 1F10019 Mechanical wrench 1 off with the IAE 1R19787 Sling 1 off to the wrench.

    4. Install the IAE 1M14139 Immobilizing fixture 1 off to the rear end of the LP turbine shaft. Safety the immobilizing fixture to the mechanical wrench with the immobilizer plate.

    5. Operate the mechanical wrench to release the ringnut.

    6. Remove the immobilizer, the mechanical wrench with the sling and the torque wrench from the assembled fixture.

    7. Remove the ringnut from the rear end of the LP turbine shaft.

    21. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-074-A00 V2500-A1 Install the Guide Pogo Stick and Remove the Lifting Fixture

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure

    2. Install the IAE 1F10074 Guide pogo stick 1 off to the inner diameter of the LP turbine shaft. Use an applicable webbing sling.

    3. Make sure that the centering diameter of the guide pogo stick is installed correctly to the LP turbine shaft. Turn clockwise the screw at the rear end of the guide pogo stick to safety the guide pogo stick to the LP turbine shaft.

    4. Put the IAE 1F10075 Support pedestal B below the guide pogo stick. Move the support pedestal B near to the rear end of the guide pogo stick.

    5. Turn the hand wheel A until the end of the pedestal-screw touches the guide pogo stick. Safety the pedestal-screw with the hand wheel B.

    6. Attach the IAE 1F10052 Two cables sling 1 off to the rear spools of the support arms.

    7. Release the 19 screws that attach the lifting fixture to the rear flange of the LP turbine case.

    8. Move the lifting fixture rearwards, near to the support pedestal B.

    9. Install the IAE 1F10075 Support pedestal 1 off A between the rear flange of the LP turbine case and the support fixture.

    10. Remove the support pedestal B.

    11. Remove the assembled fixture from the guide pogo stick.

    22. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-074-B00 V2500-A5 Install the Guide Support and Remove the Lifting Fixture

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure

    2. Install the IAE 1P16377 Guide support 1 off to the inner diameter of the LP turbine shaft. Use an applicable webbing sling.

    3. Make sure that the centering diameter of the guide support is installed correctly to the LP turbine shaft. Turn clockwise the screw at the rear end of the guide support to safety the guide support to the LP turbine shaft.

    4. Put the IAE 1F10075 Support pedestal B below the guide support. Move the support pedestal B near to the rear end of the guide support.

    5. Turn the hand wheel A until the end of the pedestal-screw touches the guide support. Safety the pedestal-screw with the hand wheel B.

    6. Attach the IAE 1F10052 Two cables sling 1 off to the rear spools of the support arms.

    7. Release the 19 screws that attach the lifting fixture to the rear flange of the LP turbine case.

    8. Move the lifting fixture rearwards, near to the support pedestal B.

    9. Install the IAE 1F10075 Support pedestal 1 off A between the rear flange of the LP turbine case and the support fixture.

    10. Remove the support pedestal B.

    11. Remove the assembled fixture from the guide support.

    23. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-075-A00 V2500-A1 Install the Supporting Fixture

      NOTE

      Measure the inner hub diameter of Stage 7 Disk before you install the supporting fixture.

      NOTE

      If the inner hub diameter is 12.595 in. (319.9 mm) use IAE 1M14086 Supporting fixture
      If the inner hub diameter is 12.441 in. (316 mm) use IAE 1M14461 Supporting fixture

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Install the IAE 1M14086 Supporting fixture or the IAE 1M14461 Supporting fixture 1 off at the 12 o'clock position to the LP turbine case. Attach the supporting fixture with the four screws.

    3. Attach the two clamps with the two hand knobs to the stage 7 turbine disk.

    24. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-075-B00 V2500-A5 Install the Supporting Fixture

      NOTE

      Measure the inner hub diameter of Stage 7 Disk before you install the supporting fixture.

      NOTE

      If the inner hub diameter is 12.595 in. (319.9 mm) use IAE 1M14143 Support fixture
      If the inner hub diameter is 12.441 in. (316 mm) use IAE 1M14461 Supporting fixture

    1. Refer to Figure

    2. Install the IAE 1M14143 Support fixture or the IAE 1M14461 Supporting fixture 1 off at the 12 o'clock position to LP turbine case. Attach the supporting fixture with the four screws.

    3. Attach the two clamps with the two hand knobs to the stage 7 turbine disk.

    25. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-076-A00 V2500-A1 Remove the Guide Pogo Stick from the LP Turbine Module without Turbine Exhaust Case

    3. Release and remove the IAE 1F10074 Guide pogo stick from the LP turbine shaft. Use an applicable webbing sling.

    3. Release and remove the IAE 1P16377 Guide support from the LP turbine shaft. Use an applicable webbing sling.

    27. SUBTASK 72-50-00-540-077 Disassemble the Lifting Fixture and the Support Fixture

    2. Remove the three nuts on the guide sleeves, parts of the lifting fixture.

    3. Use hoist equipment. Disengage the lifting fixture from the support fixture.
