Description

  1. TASK 72-50-00-990-502 Description and Operation of the Turbine Exhaust Case Assembly

    1. General

      1. The turbine exhaust case assembly has the low pressure rotor rear (No.5) bearing and support structure. The loads are transmitted to the outer case by means of struts.

The assembly has mounts for the airframe-supplied tail cone and the engine exhaust duct.

This case also includes the engine rear mount and rear ground handling.

The mount rails have attachments for the airframe links to move the engine vertical, side and torsional loads to the airframe structure.

The rear ground handling has two holes through the rear mount rail on the horizontal centerline.

      2. The exhaust gas temperature (EGT) probes are installed in the case struts to measure the total temperature (T4-9).

The total pressure (P4.9) is measured by pressure probes which are integral with the case struts.

    2. Assembly Sub-Assemblies

Listed below are the module build groups with the associated work groups (marked *). The work group level is where piece parts are cleaned, inspected and repaired/reworked.
