Refer to Figure.
Use the Hot air gun.
Do not increase the temperature of the housing above 284 deg F (140 deg C).
Heat the housing adjacent to the 4P0040 INSERT.
Use a suitable drift.
Drift out the 4P0040 INSERT from the housing.
SUBTASK 72-60-25-350-088 Remove the Inserts
Refer to Figure.
The interference between the 4P0040 INSERT and the housing must be 0.0002 in. to 0.0021 in. (0.005 mm - 0.055 mm) tight.
Verify that the tight fit exists between the outer diameter of the new 4P0040 INSERT and the corresponding hole in housing.
Use the Hot air gun and/or Freezer.
Do not increase the temperature of the housing above 284 deg F (140 deg C). Do not decrease the temperature of the assembled drift and bushing below -58 deg F (-50 deg C).
Heat the housing adjacent to hole and/or decrease the temperature of the bushing and drift.
Drift in the new 4P0040 INSERT.
