Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
The maximum permitted depth of the blending in the spline and in the gear is 0.0014 in. (0.025 mm).
The maximum permitted damaged area of each tooth is 10 percent of the engagement surface.
It is not necessary to polish the repaired surfaces.
Blend the engagement surfaces of the spline teeth and gear teeth at location 1 and 2.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
The maximum number of nicks permitted is 3 per tooth, 0.040 in. (1.020 mm) long, and each nick must not extend more than 0.020 in. (0.51 mm) onto the engagement surface.
The maximum permitted depth of blended nicks is 0.010 in. (0.25 mm).
The minimum distance between the nicks must be equal to or more than the longest nick.
Blend the gear tooth tip and tooth side at locations 3 and 4.
Refer to TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
The maximum number of nicks permitted is 3 per tooth, 0.040 in. (1.02 mm) long, and each nick must not extend more than 0.020 in. (0.51 mm) onto the engagement surface.
The maximum permitted depth of blended nicks is 0.004 in. (0.10 mm).
The minimum distance between the nicks must be equal or more than the longest nick.
Blend the spline tooth tip at location 1.
