Refer to Figure.
The diameter of the repaired area(s) is to be 50 times the depth.
The maximum depth of the repaired area (s) is to be 0.004 in. (0.10 mm).
Remove the damaged materials, as necessary. Do not remove more than is necessary. Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Make sure all damage marks are completely removed and the area(s) made smooth into the adjacent material.
Make smooth the repaired area(s). Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Polish the repaired area area(s) to remove the scratches and to give a smooth surface finish.
Polish the repaired area(s). Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
SUBTASK 73-11-49-350-065 Remove the Damaged Area(s)
Refer to Figure.
Make sure the maximum depth of the repaired area(s) is not more than 0.004 in (0.10 mm).
Use workshop inspection equipment.
Make a visual inspection of the repaired area(s) and measure the depth of the repaired area(s).
SUBTASK 73-11-49-220-115 Examine the Repaired Area(s)
Use CoMat 06-022 FLUORESCENT PENETRANT (POST-EMULSIFIED ULTRA HIGH SENSITIVITY) with crack test equipment.
Cracks are not permitted.
Do a local penetrant crack test on the repaired area(s). Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-01-230-501.
SUBTASK 73-11-49-230-063 Do a Crack Test
Use pressure test equipment.
Do an air and hydraulic pressure test of the tube. Refer to Testing-001 TASK 73-11-49-700-101.
