Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 73-11-49-350-064 Remove the Fuel Tube Damage

      CAUTION

      TITANIUM COMPONENTS
      YOU MUST USE SILICON CARBIDE TYPE WHEELS, STONES AND ABRASIVE PAPERS TO DRESS, BLEND AND POLISH THIS COMPONENT. YOU MUST NOT USE ALUMINUM OXIDE TYPES.
      DO NOT USE FORCE WITH MECHANICAL CUTTERS OR THE MATERIAL WILL OXIDIZE AND CRACK.
      IF THE MATERIAL SHOWS A CHANGE IN COLOR TO A DARK STRAW TO BLUE COLOR YOU MUST REJECT THE COMPONENT.
      1. Remove the damage.

      2. Use a hand held pneumatic grinder and rotating file to dress the tube damage.

      3. The maximum depth to remove the damage must not be more than 0.004 in. (0.10 mm).

      1. Make the damaged area smooth.

      2. Blend and polish the area to remove the sharp edges, scores and dressing marks.

      1. Repair tube distortion.

      2. Carefully make the distortion flat with hand tools.

      1. Do a visual inspection.

      2. Refer to the Inspection-000 TASK 73-11-49-200-100.

    1. SUBTASK 73-11-49-790-052 Do a Leak Test on the Fuel Tube Assembly

      1. Do a leak test on the tube.

      2. Refer to the Testing-000 TASK 73-11-49-700-100.
