Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 73-22-50-110-001 Purge the PB Sense Line

      1. Disconnect the flexible hose.

      2. Cut and discard the lockwire from the flexible hose connector.

      3. Disconnect the flexible hose from the EEC.

      4. Shake the end of the flexible hose to remove moisture.

      5. Remove the union from the EEC sensor inlet port and discard the seal.

      1. Pre SBE 73-0198 only: Purge the PB sense line through the upper vent trap.

        NOTE

For Engines that have SBE 73-0198 incorporated, there is no upper vent trap. Proceed with Step.
      2. Remove the upper vent trap plug and washer.

      3. Blow out the vent trap plug with nitrogen or clean dry air.

      4. Clean the plug with a clean lint-free cloth.

      5. Blow out all contamination from the burner pressure sense line from the EEC to the opened upper vent trap with nitrogen or clean dry air at 75 PSI (517.11 kPa) for three minutes. Make sure that the nitrogen or air flows freely through the burner pressure water trap holes.

      6. During purging, probe the vent trap hole with a piece of CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE or equivalent. Lightly tap the sides of the trap to remove all remaining contamination.

      7. Install the washer and upper vent trap plug.

      8. Torque the plug to between 42 and 46 lbf in (4.75 and 5.20 Nm).

      9. Safety the plug with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE or equivalent.

      1. Pre SBE 73-0198: Purge the PB sense line through the lower vent trap.

      2. Remove the lower vent trap plug and washer.

      3. Blow out the vent trap plug with nitrogen or clean dry air.

      4. Clean the plug with a clean lint-free cloth.

      5. Blow out all contamination from the burner pressure sense line from the EEC to the opened lower vent trap with nitrogen or clean dry air at 75 PSI (517.11 kPa) for three minutes.

      8. Torque the plug to between 42 and 46 lbf in (4.75 and 5.20 Nm)

      9. Safety the plug with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE or equivalent.

      1. SBE 73-0198: Purge the PB sense line through the lower vent trap.

      2. Remove the lower vent trap plug assembly.

      3. Blow out the vent plug with nitrogen or clean dry air. Make sure that the vent trap hole of the plug assembly is free of contamination.

      4. Clean the plug with a clean lint-free cloth.

      5. Blow out all contamination from the burner pressure sensor line from the EEC to the opened lower vent trap with nitrogen or clean dry air at 75 PSI (517.11 kPa) for three minutes.

      6. Install the lower vent trap plug assembly.

      7. Torque the plug assembly to between 283 and 310 lbf in (31.98 and 35.03 Nm).

      8. Safety the plug assembly with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE or equivalent.

      1. Purge the PB sense line into the engine.

      2. Blow out all contamination from the burner pressure sensor line from the EEC into the engine with nitrogen or clean dry air at 75 PSI (517.11 kPa) for three minutes. Make sure that the nitrogen or air flows freely through the burner pressure water trap holes.

      1. Connect the flexible hose.

        NOTE

Make sure all of the pipes that make up the PB line are correctly connected. Joints that leak can let moisture into the line and cause PB problems.
      2. Make sure the union has no debris or contamination. If necessary, clean the union with nitrogen or clean dry air at 75 PSI (517.11 kPa). Install a new seal ring on the union.

      3. Install the union in the EEC PB inlet port with the external cone end toward the flexible hose.

      4. Torque the union to between 168 and 181 lbf in (18.98 and 20.45 Nm).

      5. Safety the union with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE or equivalent.

      6. Install and connect the flexible hose connector to the union. Make sure the connector is attached correctly.

      7. Torque the connector to between 142 and 150 lbf in (16.04 and 16.95 Nm).

      8. Safety the connector with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE or equivalent.
