    1. SUBTASK 75-22-41-350-051 Dress to Remove Damage in the Mating Surface, Location 2 and 5

      CAUTION

      TITANIUM COMPONENTS
      SILICON CARBIDE TYPE WHEELS, STONES AND ABRASIVE PAPERS ARE TO BE USED FOR THIS REPAIR.
      ALUMINUM OXIDE TYPES MUST NOT BE USED.
      THE MATERIAL WILL OXIDIZE AND CRACK IF MECHANICAL CUTTERS ARE USED HEAVILY. THIS HAS OCCURRED IF THE COMPONENT SHOWS DARK STRAW TO BLUE DISCOLORATION. IF AT ANY TIME THIS COLORATION OCCURS THE COMPONENT MUST BE REJECTED.
      1. WARNING

        DO NOT OPERATE WITHOUT SAFETY GOGGLES AND OTHER GUARDS EQUIPMENT. FLYING MATERIAL CAN CAUSE EYE INJURY.

        NOTE

        Keep the material removal to the minimum necessary to remove damaged area.

        Dress to remove nicks and scores in the mating surface.

      2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      3. Dress until all damage is removed.

      1. Blend dressed area and polish out scores.

      2. Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

      3. CoMat 05-020 WATERPROOF SILICON CARBIDE abrasive paper and CoMat 05-021 WATERPROOF SILICON CARBIDE abrasive paper Maximum blend limit is 0.005 in. (0.12 mm) in depth.

      3. Maximum blend limit is 0.005 in. (0.12 mm) in depth.

      4. Maximum hole diameter is 0.4411 in. (11.20 mm).

    1. SUBTASK 75-22-41-220-073 Examine the Duct

      1. Visually examine the repaired area.

      2. Visually examine the repaired area for nicks, scores and/or burrs using 10X magnifying glass.

    1. SUBTASK 75-22-41-230-061 Examine the Ducts (01-300 and 01-400) for cracks

      1. Do a penetrant crack test on the repaired area.

      2. Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-01-230-501.

      3. Use Penetrant Crack Test Equipment. No cracks are permitted.
