Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 75-24-49-350-053 General Instructions for the Blend Repair of the Connector Tube (01-010)

      1. Blend the nicks, dents or pits of the connector tube.

      1. Use files and stones to remove raised material.

      2. Polish the blended areas.

      1. Use fine stones to make the blended surface as smooth as the initial surface.

      2. Edges and corners are not permitted.

    2. SUBTASK 75-24-49-350-054 Blend the Connector Tube (01-010)

      NOTE

      Keep material removal to the minimum to remove damage.

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Blend repair in areas A1 and A2.

      1. No blend repair necessary.

      2. Remove raised material only.

      3. Blend repair the clamps.

      1. No blend repair necessary.

      2. Remove raised material only.

    3. SUBTASK 75-24-49-230-055 Examine the Connector Tube (01-010) for Cracks

      1. Do the test for cracks.

      1. Examine all blended areas.

      2. Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

      3. No cracks are permitted.

    4. SUBTASK 75-24-49-220-074 Do the Post Repair Inspection of the Connector Tube (01-010)

      1. Examine the surface finish.

      2. The surface finish of all repairs must be as good as the surrounding areas.
