Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 75-24-49-350-051 General Instructions for the Blend Repair of the Half Loop Clamp (02-590)

      1. Blend the nicks, dents and pits of the clamp.

      1. Use files and stones to remove raised material.

      2. Polish the blended areas.

      1. Use fine stones to make the blended surface as smooth as the initial surface. Edges and corners are not permitted.

    2. SUBTASK 75-24-49-350-052 Blend Repair of the Half Loop Clamp (02-590)

      NOTE

      Keep material removal to the minimum to remove damage.

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Blend repair in areas A1 and A2.

      1. No blend repair necessary.

      2. Remove raised material only.

      3. Blend repair the holes.

      1. No blend repair necessary.

      2. Remove raised material only.

    3. SUBTASK 75-24-49-230-054 Examine the Half Loop Clamp (02-590) for Cracks

      1. Do the test for cracks.

      1. Examine all blended areas.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501. No cracks are permitted.

    4. SUBTASK 75-24-49-220-073 Do the Post Repair Inspection of the Half Loop Clamp (02-590)

      1. Examine the surface finish.

      2. The surface finish of all repairs must be as good as surrounding areas.
