Description

  1. TASK 79-21-41-990-501 Oil Pressure Pump/Filter Housing - Related Parts - Description And Operation Of The Pressure Pump

    1. Description

The oil pump is a component of the gearbox module. The unit supplies the pressurized oil to the sumps and the gearbox. The pump is bolted to the external gearbox on the left hand side. It consists of a pump gear drive and a casing which contains; the gear mesh, the filter, the anti drain valve, the trim valve and the relief valve. The casing has also ports which allow the monitoring of the filter pressure drop and to drain the pump.

    2. Operation

The pump is driven by the gearbox via the external spline. The pump output is modulated by the engine high pressure rotor speed that results in a flow proportional to the engine requirements. It also includes a trimming pump discharge pressure to provide a by-pass feature for the excess capacity.
