Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 79-21-41-350-066 Remove the Filter Support from the Casing Assembly

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Discard the filter support.

    1. SUBTASK 79-21-41-350-067 Examine the Casing Assembly Filter Support Seat

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Examine the casing assembly filter support seat.

      2. Remove the high metal where necessary.

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Measure the diameter of the filter support seat in the casing assembly.

      2. Measure the seat at different locations.

      3. Make an average and record the diameter.

      1. Measure the outer diameter of the new filter support.

      2. Measure the diameter at different locations.

      3. Make an average and record the diameter.

      1. Calculate the interference between the diameter of the filter support and its seat.

      2. The interference value must be between 0.00039 to 0.0031 in. (0.01 to 0.08 mm).

    1. SUBTASK 79-21-41-350-068 Install the New Filter Support, in the Casing Assembly

    2. WARNING

      DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT PARTS WITHOUT PROTECTIVE GLOVES.
      HOT PARTS CAN CAUSE REDDENING AND BLISTERING OF THE SKIN IF THE HANDS ARE NOT PROTECTED.
      IMMERSE THE CONTACTED AREA IN COLD WATER FOR 10 MINUTES IF THE SKIN IS BURNED.
      IMMEDIATELY GET MEDICAL ATTENTION IF PAIN OR BLISTERING PERSISTS.

      Refer to Figure.

      1. Increase the temperature of the casing assembly filter support seat.

      2. Do not increase the temperature of the casing above 212 deg F (100 deg C).

      3. Use a Heat Gun.

      1. Put the new filter support in the casing assembly seat.

      2. Use protective gloves.

      1. Install the filter support.

      2. Apply a load of 110 lb (50 Kg) maximum.

    3. Let the parts get the room temperature.

    4. Remove the drift.

      1. Check that the filter support is correctly installed.

      2. Measure dimension H at several locations.

      3. The minimum value is 2.555 in. (64.9 mm).

      1. Vibro-engrave VRS5620 adjacent to the part number.

      2. Remove the metal lifted by marking.
