Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 79-21-41-350-055 Blend Repair the Drive Gear (01-080) Surfaces

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Blend the gear tip of tooth and tooth area at location 1 and 3.

      2. Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

      3. The maximum permitted number of nicks is 3 per tooth, 0.04 in. (1.02 mm) long, not extended more than 0.02 in. (0.51 mm) onto the surface that engages.

      4. The maximum permitted depth of blended nicks is 0.01 in. (0.25 mm).

      5. The minimum distance between the nicks must be equal to or more than the length of the longest nick.

      1. Blend the face surface of the gear tooth at location 2.

      2. Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

      3. The maximum permitted blend depth is 0.0014 in. (0.035 mm).

      4. The maximum permitted damaged area of each tooth is 10 percent of the face surface.

      5. It is not necessary to polish the repair surfaces.

      1. Blend the gear surfaces at location 4.

      2. Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

      3. The maximum permitted depth of the blending is 0.008 in. (0.20 mm).
