TASK 79-21-48-700-101 Gearbox Pressure Oil Tubes - Do A Pressure Test, Testing-001
General
Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.
All test pressures referred to in the text are gage pressure.
The pressure oil tubes must be cleaned and inspected before this pressure test, refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 79-21-48-100-100 and Inspection-000 TASK 79-21-48-200-100.

Install the suitable leak test, adapter to the tube (02-100).
Install the suitable leak test, adapter to the tube (03-100).
Install the suitable leak test, adapter to the tube (04-100).
Install the suitable leak test, adapter to the tube (05-500).
SUBTASK 79-21-48-780-051 Prepare the Oil Pressure Tubes (02-100,03-100,04-100 and 05-500), for the Hydraulic Pressure Test
Fit suitable adapters 2 off to the tube.
Connect the hydraulic pressure test rig to adapter on the tube.
Open the bleed valve and apply a minimal hydraulic pressure to bleed the air from the tube. Close the bleed valve when you see a fluid flow free of air.
Increase the pressure in the tube to 142 psi (980 KPa).
Let the pressure stay in the tube for a minimum of three minutes.
Examine the tube for signs of leakage, particularly at welded or repaired areas. If the tube has leaks, reject the tube.
Decrease the pressure in the tube to zero.
Stop the hydraulic pressure testing rig.
Open the bleed valve.
Disconnect the tube from the outlet of the hydraulic pressure testing rig and the bleed valve adapter.
Remove the adapters 2 off from the tube.
SUBTASK 79-21-48-780-052 Do the Hydraulic Pressure Test on the Oil Pressure Tubes (02-100,03- 100,04-100 and 05-500)

WARNING
MAKE SURE THAT APPROVED SAFETY GUARDS ARE IN POSITION AROUND THE TUBE WHEN YOU APPLY HYDRAULIC PRESSURE.DO NOT GET ENGINE OIL ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES. ENGINE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND IN TO YOUR BODY. FLUSH ENGINE OIL FROM YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR SKIN WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOU GET ENGINE OIL IN YOUR EYES OR MOUTH.Clean the tubes. Refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 79-21-48-100-100.
SUBTASK 79-21-48-110-051 Clean the Oil Tubes (02-100,03-100,04-100 and 05-500)
